Biography
Mona is an IP Manager working in the Trade Marks Group in the Dubai office.
Mona is an experienced Trade Mark Agent with more than 18 years experience in the Middle East and North Africa. She joined Rouse in 2000 having graduated with a degree in Foreign Languages and Translation from the Ajman University of Science & Technology and had an essential role in establishing the Trade Mark Agency practice in the Dubai office back in 2000.
Mona has experience in conducting clearance searches, creating filing strategies, dealing with prosecution matters such as oppositions, appeals and office actions. Her works include contentious and non-contentious trade marks matters including trade mark portfolio management, clearance and prosecution across the Middle East and North Africa.
She is currently responsible for the day to day management of the Trade Mark Practice Group in our Dubai office covering the Middle East and Africa region. For a number of clients Mona’s practice includes managing trade mark portfolios extending to Europe, America, and Asia. She has experience of working in a wide range of sectors including food and beverages, fashion, retail, banking, clothing and footwear, pharmaceuticals, consumer healthcare, beauty, tobacco and many others.
Mona has built an excellent relationship with the Notary Publics and assist clients with execution of documents and meet regularly with the Notaries. Also, Mona review and approves translation work.
Mona studied Intellectual Property at Queen Mary University of London and completed part two of her Trade Marks examination in the UK and will be completing the NLS course in preparation for completion of ITMA qualifications.
In the last few years Mona has also played a key role in the creation and running of our Formalities Team in Dubai, which provides process support to our Trade Mark practice group.
